Abraxis

8 W-OTazetta

Description

Abraxis bears three to six scented, 58 mm-wide flowers per stem, with very broad, deeply overlapping segments and a strong orange corona. The inner segments have wavy margins, while the bowl-shaped, loosely ribbed corona has a flared mouth that is wavy or lightly frilled. It blooms early, and its name arose when the intended Santana album title “Abraxas” was misspelled during registration; the hybridizer later preferred “Abraxis.”
