Aintree

Description

Aintree forms an 88 mm-wide double triangle, combining chalky-white perianth segments with a dark orange corona broadly banded in a darker tone at the rim. The broadly ovate, blunt segments overlap by at least half, become somewhat reflexed at maturity, and have slightly pointed tips; the cup-shaped corona has a slightly flared mouth and crenate rim. Blooming in mid-season or earlier, it belongs to John Williams’ “Liverpool Series” and was named after an area of Liverpool.
