Altun Ha

Description

Altun Ha has rounded flowers with very broad, overlapping, concave perianth segments that open brilliant to light greenish yellow and become darker, with white at the base and on the blunt tips. The inner segments are broad-shouldered at the base, while the broadly funnel-shaped corona opens lemon yellow and matures to white tinged with pale greenish yellow, sometimes retaining a brighter yellow rim. Its corona mouth is straight or slightly flared, ending in a shallowly and irregularly notched and lobed rim. Flowering from mid-season to late, the cultivar belongs to Pearson’s “British Military Stations Series” and was named for the location in Belize where Pearson was stationed.
