Ashlini

Description

Ashlini produces 5–8 rounded, 45 mm-wide flowers per stem, pairing white perianth segments with a smooth, brilliant yellow, shallow bowl-shaped corona. The 18 mm segments are very broad, roundish and blunt, spreading flat with creases and overlap and having heavy substance; their tiny pointed tips are less noticeable on the broadly ovate, slightly inflexed inner segments, which are shouldered at the base. The 8 mm corona has an even mouth and an unbroken rim. It has a dwarf habit, blooms from mid- to late season, and bears an invented name from Wilf Hall’s series of Italian-sounding names ending in “ini.”
