Description

Audubon bears 102 mm flowers with pure white, broadly ovate perianth segments that spread flat, overlap by one-third to one-half, and end in blunt yet prominent small points. The substantial segments may have minutely incurled margins; the inner segments are slightly inflexed, with wavy or more strongly incurled edges. At the center, a ribbed, bowl-shaped creamy-white corona has a broad coral-pink rim band and a lightly frilled mouth that is split and overlapping in places. It blooms in mid-season and belongs to Mitsch's “Bird Series”; its name honors an organization focused on birds.
