Description
Bosbigal has an orange corona split to the base into six smooth, frilled segments, each bilobed and squarish at the tip; they lie flat and closely over the corresponding perianth segments, matching them in width and reaching two-thirds of their length. The broadly ovate outer segments overlap by half, with rounded or blunt tips, slightly inflexed form, and minutely incurled margins; the inner segments are slightly narrower and usually blunt. It blooms early, and the flower is described as sunproof.
