Broughshane

Description

Broughshane has 135 mm flowers with greenish-white, spreading perianth segments that are very broadly ovate, lightly pointed, ribbed, and half-overlapping. The narrower inner segments curve inward at the base and backward near their wavy-edged tips, while the lightly ribbed, somewhat funnel-shaped corona has a widely flanged, deeply toothed rim. The corona opens with primrose-yellow tinges before becoming amber white; the cultivar was named after Guy Wilson's home village of Broughshane in County Atrim, Northern Ireland.
