Butter and Eggs

Description

Butter and Eggs has double, light butter-yellow flowers arranged in several whorls and shading to orange at the center. The spreading outer whorl has separated, wavy margins, while the shorter, narrower inner whorls turn inward around broad, short corona segments that are orange or sometimes nearer yellow. Faintly fragrant and free-flowering, the variety is free-growing and eventually forms large clumps when left undisturbed. Its name was described as a common old English garden name suggested by the coloring; an Award of Merit at Haarlem was recorded in 1913 under the name “Golden Rose.”
