Cactus Blossom

Description

Cactus Blossom has rounded, 86 mm flowers with white perianth segments and a vivid yellow corona. The broad, spreading outer segments overlap by half, while the narrower inner segments are slightly inflexed. Its smooth, cup-shaped corona has a straight, slightly frilled mouth and a nearly entire rim, and the flowers open in mid-season. Bob Spotts named it for flowers he saw in the desert while growing up; its parent records were later lost in a garden fire.
