Carlton

2 Y-YLarge-cupped

Description

Carlton bears 120 mm sulfur-yellow flowers with broad to very broad, blunt segments ending in prominent points. The spreading, overlapping segments are slightly twisted and creased, with wavy inner margins, while the darker corona is broad and funnel-shaped with a frilled mouth and a deeply notched, crenate rim. It blooms from mid- to late season; a 1937 appraisal described immense vigor, rapid increase, and hard, healthy bulbs.
