Emperor

Description

Emperor combines a brilliant greenish-yellow perianth with a vivid yellow corona. The broad, overlapping perianth segments are slightly inflexed, with wavy margins on the inner segments, while the loosely ribbed corona flares from a cylindrical base to a lightly frilled, notched and crenate rim. Mr. Backhouse bred it in 1865, and an RHS parental note identifies it as a hybrid of N. bicolor and N. pseudonarcissus.
