Exception

Description

Exception has 103 mm flowers with very broad, blunt perianth segments that spread or curve slightly inward, overlap by one-third, and end in small white points. The inner segments are more often inward-curving and twisted, while the cylindrical to somewhat funnel-shaped corona has an expanded mouth and a flanged rim with deep, regular notches and rounded teeth. It blooms early and received the RHS Award of Garden Merit in 2001, although the award was rescinded in 2012.
