Folly

2 W-OLarge-cupped

Description

Folly bears 95 mm flowers with creamy-white perianth segments surrounding a yellow-orange corona that deepens to red-orange at the rim. The broad, recurved outer segments are half-overlapping and prominently pointed at their blunt or squarish tips, while the narrower inner segments have wavy, incurved margins. The ribbed, bowl-shaped corona opens into a distinctly six-lobed mouth. It is classified as mid-season and sunproof; a historical account also describes well-posed flowers on very strong stems with lasting color.
