Description

Gay Kybo has 105 mm flowers with blunt, slightly pointed, inflexed and overlapping perianth segments; the outer whorl sometimes contains more than six segments. Interspersed strong-orange corona segments have a crenate rim. It blooms in mid-season. Part of Richardson's Race Horse Series and named after a successful Irish racehorse, the cultivar was initially discarded by Mrs. Richardson before du Plessis Bros rescued and registered it in 1980.
