Helios

Description

Helios has soft clear yellow, broadly ovate perianth segments with a small white tip; the overlapping segments are somewhat creased, with recurved margins, while the inner segments may be slightly twisted or wavy-edged. Its lightly ribbed, cylindrical corona has an expanded, frilled mouth with occasional splits and overlaps, plus a regularly notched, crenate rim; it opens clear buttercup yellow before deepening to rich golden yellow tinged with coppery orange. The flowers measure 98 mm across and bloom in mid-season.
