Kapiti Peach

Description

Kapiti Peach bears four upward-facing flowers per stem, pairing greenish-white perianth segments with a light yellow-orange, cup-shaped and ribbed corona. The roundish, blunt outer segments spread flat with incurved margins, a visible midrib, heavy substance and half overlap; the slightly narrower inner segments are shouldered at the base. Strongly scented and flowering in mid-season, it belongs to John McLennan’s “Kapiti Series” and was named for the Kapiti coast on New Zealand’s North Island. RHS registration dates to March 13, 2017.
