Kurfurstin Sophie

Description

Kurfurstin Sophie produces 90 mm, upward-facing flowers composed of several whorls of perianth and other petaloid segments. The 35 mm outer segments are strong yellow-green, broadly ovate and heavy in substance, with visible midribs and blunt or truncate, finely pointed tips. Toward the center, the inner segments become shorter, more inflexed and nearly white, folding inward from the midrib or curving strongly at the margins; very short, vivid-yellow corona segments are interspersed among them. The sweetly scented flowers bloom in mid-season.
