Description
Matador bears three to five flowers per stem, with sulphur-yellow, broadly oval segments that spread and overlap, ending in prominent short points. The inner segments turn slightly inward and have wavy margins, while the shallow, expanded corona is closely ribbed and frilled. The bright orange corona has a variable amount of green at its base and sometimes a darker orange rim, while the perianth fades to very pale yellow; the plant is tall and blooms early.
