Mowser

Description

Mowser bears up to four rounded, 55 mm flowers per stem, pairing very dark yellow perianth segments tipped with a slight white mucro with a shallow, red, bowl-shaped cup. The slightly concave, round perianth has broad, blunt, deeply overlapping segments that spread or turn somewhat inward; the inner segments are usually flatter and more inflexed, with a broad midrib visible. The ribbed cup has a wavy mouth and a faintly crenate rim. It is recorded as flowering from mid- to late season and as resistant to sun; its name refers to the children's book Mouser Cat.
