Mrs R.O.Backhouse

2 W-PLarge-cupped

Description

Mrs R.O.Backhouse bears 97 mm flowers with a pale apricot-pink corona that deepens at the rim. Broadly ovate, overlapping perianth segments spread with a slight twist around the cylindrical corona, whose expanded mouth is loosely frilled and crenate at the rim. Robert Backhouse named the cultivar in 1923 in memory of his late wife, Sarah Elizabeth Backhouse, a renowned daffodil breeder particularly associated with red-cupped varieties.
