Orangery

11A W-OOYSplit-corona Collar

Description

Orangery has a six-part corona split to the base, with each segment closely overlying a corresponding perianth segment. The yellow-orange corona usually carries a vivid yellow rim and shoulder; its deeply bilobed, overlapping segments are loosely ribbed and frilled, as wide as the perianth segments, and three-quarters as long. Very broad, spreading outer segments overlap substantially and end in blunt or squarish, prominently pointed tips, while the narrower inner segments have shouldered bases and wavy margins. It blooms from early to mid-season.
