Pirongia Sunset

Description

Pirongia Sunset bears 113 mm yellow flowers in a double-triangle form, centered by an orange corona with yellow at its base. The heavy, smooth perianth segments are ovate, blunt, spreading, concave, and overlapping, with narrower inner segments; the funnel-shaped, ribbed corona has a wavy mouth and toothed rim. This early-blooming cultivar belongs to the Millers’ “Pirongia Series,” named for both their nearest town and a nearby mountain.
