Pops Legacy

Description

Pops Legacy has heavy, greenish-white perianth segments that are very broadly ovate, blunt, spreading and slightly concave, overlapping by half around a broad, cylindrical, lightly ribbed brilliant-yellow corona that pales slightly toward the base. Its strongly ribbed, slightly flared and wavy corona mouth ends in a notched, crenate rim, while the shorter, narrower inner segments are square-shouldered at the base. It flowers early. “POPS” abbreviates “Phillips Open Pollinated Seedling”: Phil Phillips of New Zealand gave seeds to Bill Bender in the United States, who selected the flower for registration after years of evaluation and named it for Phillips and its parentage.
