Primrose Phoenix

Description

Primrose Phoenix bears large, rounded, double flowers in primrose yellow, formed from numerous, fairly regular superimposed whorls. The ovate to broadly ovate segments have white-tipped points; spreading or slightly inflexed outer whorls give way to progressively shorter, more strongly inflexed inner whorls and a tightly incurled, clustered center. A 1909 catalog described its color as a soft, uniform lemon shade, listed its height as 20 inches, and called it a recent introduction.
