Rode Hoed

2 Y-RLarge-cupped

Description

Rode Hoed produces 110 mm-wide flowers in a double-triangle form. Its heavily substanced, overlapping perianth segments spread around a smooth, bowl-shaped corona with a wavy mouth and flanged, toothed rim; it blooms late. The Dutch name means “red hat” and recalls Ramsay’s meeting with the Red Hat ladies at the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis while accompanied by a famous Dutchman.
