Round Oak

Description

Round Oak has 107 mm flowers with spreading, very broadly ovate, blunt perianth segments, each with a pale mucro; their midribs show, they overlap by half, and their margins are flat or slightly incurved, while the smooth inner segments are noticeably narrower. This tall, mid-season cultivar has a smooth cylindrical corona with a regularly ribbed, wavy mouth and narrowly flanged rim. A sibling of 'Ombersley', it was named for the oak tree near which the original seedling grew.
