Sacré Coeur

2 W-GYPLarge-cupped

Description

Sacré Coeur bears 103 mm flowers with a white perianth, green at the base, and a smooth, 17 mm pale-yellow cup marked by green at its base and a very broad pink rim band. The heavy, broadly ovate outer segments are spreading, flat, smooth, and half-overlapping, with rounded, prominently pointed tips; the narrower inner segments are shouldered at the base, while the straight cup mouth is lightly frilled with an unbroken rim. Flowering from mid-season to late, its blooms are sunproof, and its name refers to a Paris cathedral, as did its parent’s name.
