Saint Keverne

Description

Saint Keverne has 100 mm flowers with vivid-yellow perianth segments tipped by a small white point and a darker-toned corona. The broad, smooth outer segments spread flat and overlap by one-third, sometimes with slightly incurved margins; the narrower inner segments are slightly inflexed with somewhat wavy edges. Its cylindrical, smooth or lightly ribbed corona has a slightly expanded mouth and a flanged, deeply notched, minutely crenate rim, while the name commemorates Lanarth at St Keverne, a village on Cornwall’s Lizard Peninsula.
