Description

Salou bears 85 mm flowers whose greenish-white outer perianth whorls surround vivid yellow corona segments that deepen to orange-yellow toward their wavy, shallowly lobed, crenate rims. The perianth and other petaloid segments form three to four whorls: the 38 mm outer segments are roundish and very broad, with truncate, mucronate tips, while the shorter inner whorls are inflexed and scarcely mucronate. Corona segments are half as long as the outer perianth segments and interspersed among the inner segments. It flowers in mid-season and is sweetly scented.
