Touchdown

2 W-PLarge-cupped

Description

Touchdown has 108 mm flowers with broadly ovate, blunt, concave perianth segments that spread and overlap by one-third to one-half; the narrower inner segments are plane and shouldered at the base. Its 30 mm, funnel-shaped corona is lightly ribbed, with a straight, wavy mouth and an entire rim, while the plant is described as tall and flowering in mid-season. Derek Bircumshaw received it to grow under a seedling number, and it was named for rugby, his favorite sport.
