Apple Pie

11A W-PSplit-corona Collar

Description

Apple Pie has greenish-white perianth segments surrounding a pink corona, touched with yellow-orange at the base and split into six very broad, deeply frilled and bilobed segments. The corona segments reach two-thirds of the perianth length, join its margins at the base, and form an outer whorl of three spreading segments and an inner whorl of three inflexed segments. The 95 mm flowers have very broad, shouldered, slightly mucronate outer segments that are spreading and concave, with wavy, smooth, overlapping margins and heavy substance; the narrower inner segments are somewhat inflexed and creased. They bloom in mid-season and are sweetly scented.
