Daphne

Description

Daphne bears rounded, 52 mm flowers with petaloid segments in several whorls: the outer whorl spreads, the inner whorls curve slightly inward, and the narrower center is strongly inflexed with deeply incurled margins. Its broad, slightly concave segments have rounded, subtly pointed tips and visible midribs; the flowers are scented and open earlier than Poeticus 'Plenus'. A parent note lists it as an Ornatus sport, and 'Spalding Queenie' is a recorded synonym.
