Firebrand

Description

Firebrand has star-shaped flowers, historically described circa 1910 as small, with a creamy white perianth shaded lemon yellow at the base and a corona described as brilliant orange-red or intense fiery red. The ovate, acute perianth segments are spreading or slightly inflexed, with wavy, sometimes incurving margins, and overlap only at the base. The cup-shaped, ribbed corona has a straight, even mouth and crenate rim, and the flowers bloom in mid-season.
