Description

Fortune has 108 mm flowers with a brilliant yellow perianth and a strong orange corona that becomes paler toward the base. The broad, smooth, funnel-shaped corona has a finely ribbed mouth and deeply overlapping, lightly frilled lobes, while the spreading, broadly ovate perianth segments overlap by half. An early-blooming cultivar, it was historically described as vigorous, tall, and long-stemmed; its cup was also reported to develop a noticeable red flush when opening under some seasonal and dull-weather conditions.
