Laurens Koster

Description

Laurens Koster bears four to five creamy-white flowers per stem, each with very broad, spreading, overlapping segments and a bright orange-yellow corona. The corona is shallow bowl-shaped and ribbed with a wavy mouth, while the inner segments have wavy margins that are sometimes recurved. The cultivar commemorates Laurens Janszoon Coster, also spelled Koster, an important citizen of Haarlem and Dutch rival of Johannes Gutenberg as the alleged inventor of printing.
